Windows 7's market share surged nearly 40% in the week following its release, according to Web measurement company Net Applications. Overall, Windows 7 has been very solid for me, as was Vista for the most part, running on my aging Q6600/3.2Ghz.
It does seem to boot faster and my overall performance is about the same, 5.5 on the Windows Experience. I have no problems with any of the games I play either, some that are 4-5 years old, some that are brand new.
